The deputy of Val-de-Marne, Vincent Jeanbrun (Droite Républicaine), has tabled a bill aimed at removing from the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, the exclusive control of the ring road. This initiative comes on the same day that the speed on this axis is lowered to 50 km/h, a measure strongly criticized by Jeanbrun, who considers it unjustified and taken without consultation or impact study.

Jeanbrun defends the idea that the ring road is an axis of regional importance and not only Parisian. "Parisians represent only 18% of users, compared to 43% for residents of the inner suburbs and 23% for those of the outer suburbs," the MP recalls in his text. He proposes that the management of the boulevard be shared between the Île-de-France region, Paris and the neighboring departments via Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), chaired by Valérie Pécresse, close to Jeanbrun.

The MP also criticises the lack of consultation and the absence of a test phase for this speed reduction, which he sees as socially unfair, ecologically ineffective and economically costly. Conversely, Anne Hidalgo defends this measure as part of her "2026-2030 climate plan", presenting it as necessary to reduce pollution and improve the public health of the 500 residents living near the ring road.

Although the bill is being submitted for parliamentary review, its inclusion on the agenda remains uncertain. To support his initiative, Jeanbrun plans to launch an online petition, hoping to mobilize public opinion against Anne Hidalgo's decision.
