Violent clashes broke out this Wednesday evening in the center of Bastia on the sidelines of the rally in support of the three young nationalists tried in Paris for an attack committed in 2012.

During the confrontation with around ten young Corsican nationalists denouncing the requisitions of the public prosecutor against their three comrades, four members of the police were injured. However, there were no arrests, those responsible for maintaining order will indicate.

Before the special assize court of Paris, the public prosecutor requested 6 to 8 years in prison against three GI activists, Nicolas Battini, Stéphane Tomasini and Jean-Baptiste Verdi, aged 22 to 24, alleged perpetrators of an attack against the Corte sub-prefecture in 2012.

Numerous videos published on social networks reveal the violence of these altercations. The young people, some wearing hoods, threw Molotov cocktails and set garbage containers on fire on the market square, in the center of Bastia. A parked vehicle burned.
