Hopping like Macron, Pascal Praud mocks the president on CNews
In the show Time for the Pros broadcast on Monday, September 16 on CNews, Pascal Praud could not resist the temptation to tease President Emmanuel Macron. The day before, during the parade of champions of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the head of state was filmed jumping up and down while applauding from the stands, a scene that quickly made the rounds on social networks.
While broadcasting the sequence on his show, Pascal Praud, accompanied by his columnists, decided to add another layer. Unperturbed, he began to imitate the president by jumping on his chair while clapping his hands, provoking hilarity on the set. "I have no opinion on this image. The president, if he wants to be joyful and happy, there is no problem," commented the host, before ending the show on this light note.
Nathan Devers, one of the columnists, defended the president's behavior by emphasizing that the latter "had the right to be happy," an opinion shared by Praud, who added humorously: "He's right, a little lightness!" Others, like journalist Élisabeth Lévy, reacted with sarcasm, calling Macron's jump "behavior worthy of a seal," while ironizing the president's attitude.
The sequence comes as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games concluded in grand style on Sunday, September 15, with a parade celebrating the athletes and their success. New Prime Minister Michel Barnier hailed the event as a symbol of unity and success for France.
