PSG-Manchester City: Laurent Blanc annoyed by a journalist’s question

06 April 2016 / Jerome Goulon

On the eve of the match against Manchester City in the Champions League, the PSG coach tackled a journalist who “ only think about elimination"

After three failures in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, PSG dreams of glory in the most prestigious European competition, the Champions League. This evening, at the Parc des Princes, the Parisians welcome a Manchester City team greatly diminished by injuries: goalkeeper Joe Hart, central defender Vincent Kompany and Ivorian playmaker Yaya Touré, a real hub for the Light Blues.

This double opposition is of particular importance for Laurent Blanc's players. Because in addition to the potential semi-final which looms on the horizon, the winner of this duel will assert its supremacy over the Persian Gulf. Because if PSG has belonged to the Emir of Qatar since 2011, the Citizens of Manchester City are bossed by Sheikh Mansour of Abu Dhabi.

Enough to add a little pressure on the shoulders of Laurent Blanc who showed himself to be quite annoyed at a press conference yesterday, when a journalist raised the possibility of a fourth elimination at this stage of the quarter-finals of the competition: “ it's typically the Frenchman who always thinks about elimination. That’s incredible! We are on the eve of the match and you are talking about one thing: elimination. So excuse me for not responding to you on this subject."
