PEOPLE – Daisy Ridley, Star Wars heroine, admits to having a rare disease
Daisy Ridley, the actress known for her role in the saga Star Wars, revealed to suffer from autoimmune Graves' disease, also known as Graves-Basedow's disease. This disease affects the thyroid and causes an overproduction of hormones, leading to symptoms such as severe fatigue, rapid weight loss, exhaustion and hand tremors.
In addition to Graves' disease, Daisy Ridley has also suffered from endometriosis since the age of 15, as well as ovarian cysts. She adopted a new routine, including a gluten-free diet, mobility exercises and acupuncture, to deal with these health issues.
