No surprise, Vincent Labrune re-elected at the head of the LFP, it's up to him to transform the League in depth

Cyril Linette led an honourable campaign, with many new ideas for French football, but the machine around Vincent Labrune seemed decidedly too powerful to destabilize him.

Vincent Labrune has just been elected with more than 85% of the votes at the General Assembly of the Professional Football League (LFP). In the first round, he ousted Cyril Linette with 14 votes to 2. Many presidents had hinted to Cyril Linette that they would vote for him before voting for Vincent Labrune. A classic in politics. And behind the scenes in football, now.

Unsurprisingly, Vincent Labrune has won a second four-year term and will try to get French football out of the hole it has been stuck in for months.

Restoring media visibility to French football via DAZN will be a priority. The broadcaster is currently in difficulty, due to subscription rates that are far too high compared to the French market.

Vincent Labrune will also have the difficult task of preventing the bankruptcy of certain professional clubs, which have been hit hard by the fall in TV rights. The president of the LFP will also have to continue the work of securing stadiums, putting an end to the black market and rebuilding ties with supporters' groups, who guarantee the warm atmospheres in stadiums.

After a quick campaign, and a very complex and not very transparent way of electing the president, Vincent Labrune would also gain enormously from transforming the body in depth.

The new members du board of directors The LFP members are: Nasser Al-Khelaifi (PSG), Jean-Pierre Caillot (Stade de Reims), Damien Comolli (Toulouse FC), Olivier Letang (LOSC), Pablo Longoria (Olympique de Marseille), Jean-Pierre Rivère (OGC Nice) and Juan Sartori (AS Monaco).

Independent members are : Vincent Labrune, Cyril Linette, Karl Olive, Mark Keller (FFF), Laurent Nicollin (Foot Unis), Philippe Piat (UNFP), David Terrier (UNECATEF), Jacky Bonnevay (SAFE), Olivier Lamarre (SNAAF), Lola Pierres (AMCFP) and Eric Rolland (AMCFP).

Note that Cyril Linette should resign to leave his place to Alain Guerrini (Panini), as revealed by Interview to promote the sponsorship of Cyril Linette.
