New Popular Front: Publication of the Program

14 June 2024 / Interviews

The New Popular Front (NFP) today unveiled its legislative program. The program, presented as a “legislative contract”, proposes 20 “acts of rupture” to break with “the brutalization and mistreatment of the Macron years”.

The program also highlights pressing international issues, notably in Ukraine and Gaza, overcoming long-standing differences within the left. An extraordinary session of the National Assembly will be convened after the first fortnight to restore democratic parliamentarism, marking “the summer of bifurcations”.

Two key topics are the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, as well as the abolition of the privileges of billionaires, scheduled for August 4, in commemoration of the abolition of privileges in 1789. The third part of the program aims to establish “the harmony of human beings among themselves and with nature” and to democratize the Republic.

Journalist Edwy Plenel shared excerpts and his comments on this program via Twitter, highlighting the importance of the NFP's commitments for the next two years.
