This Sunday, September 8, Manuel Bompard, Coordinator of La France Insoumise (LFI), strongly stated on CNEWS that his party did not have any anti-Semitic candidates. He also criticized the National Rally (RN) for its positions that he describes as discriminatory and racist.

Invited to the Grand Rendez-Vous CNEWS-Europe1-Les Echos, Bompard responded to the accusations of anti-Semitism that have weighed on LFI. "We have no anti-Semitic candidates. If anyone has a concrete example, let them provide it," he said. He specified that a person had been disinvested during the electoral campaign for comments deemed ambiguous, highlighting his party's reactivity in such situations.

On the other hand, Bompard accused the RN of promoting discrimination and racism. He cited the example of the RN's proposal during the legislative elections which aimed to ban certain jobs for people with dual nationality, describing this position as "xenophobia and racism".

Regarding domestic politics, Bompard expressed LFI's ambitions to overthrow Michel Barnier's government. "We have filed a motion of censure to bring down Michel Barnier's government," he said, adding that his party hoped that the President of the Republic would respect the election results by appointing their candidate, Lucie Castets, to Matignon.

Bompard also commented on Saturday's demonstrations organised by LFI. According to the organisers, 300 people marched across France, while the Interior Ministry estimated their number at 000. "If you have a demonstration in support of Michel Barnier, tell me how many people will be in the streets, and we will compare the two," he challenged.

Finally, LFI plans to continue its efforts to advance the procedure for the impeachment of the President of the Republic, in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution of the Fifth Republic. Manuel Bompard thus vigorously defended the positions of his party while severely criticizing those of his political opponents.
