Discovered in 2017 thanks to a viral video where he uttered his famous phrase "si si j'suis très net", Baptiste Moirot was officially designated as one of the bearers of the Olympic flame for the Paris 2024 Games, seven years later having caused a sensation on the web.

The organizing committee for the Paris 2024 Games announced on Wednesday April 10 that Baptiste Moirot would be one of the bearers of the Olympic flame. This news was made official on the organization's X account, formerly known as Twitter. The message posted by Paris 2024 states: “We too are very clear. From a spark in his teenage bedroom to becoming one of the torchbearers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Welcome to the Baptiste adventure! »

This choice may seem improbable, but it is very real. Baptiste Moirot, who made himself known in 2017 in a video broadcast live on Facebook, where he burned Kevlar under the influence of two sleeping pills, was thus selected as bearer of the Olympic flame. This video, which has become emblematic for many young people, sparked a petition on Facebook for Baptiste to be chosen as torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Games. This humorous initiative collected 274 signatures and finally became a reality.

The announcement of Baptiste Moirot's participation as bearer of the Olympic flame was received in varying ways on social networks. Some welcomed this nod, while others believe that Baptiste Moirot has done nothing to deserve his place among the 10 torchbearers designated by Paris 000.
