The first selections for the 2024 Médicis and Interallié prizes revealed
The juries of the Médicis and Interallié prizes revealed, this Wednesday, September 18, 2024, their first lists of novels in competition. In total, 16 French novels are in the running for the Médicis prize, while 13 works are competing for the Interallié prize. Among these selections, several titles are also expected for the prestigious Goncourt prize, highlighting a rich and diverse literary rentrée.
The Prix Médicis, chaired by Anne Garréta, highlighted authors such as Miguel Bonnefoy and Emmanuelle Lambert, as well as a selection of 14 foreign novels. At the same time, the jury of the Prix Interallié, chaired by Jean-Marie Rouart, selected works such as Houris by Kamel Daoud and Heart by Thibault de Montaigu. These authors, like Olivier Norek and Jean-Noël Orengo, also appear in the first selection of the Goncourt.
Both prizes will be awarded in November 2024, with a second selection of novels scheduled for early October. The 2023 edition of the Prix Interallié was won by Gaspard Koenig, while Kevin Lambert won the Médicis. Expectations are therefore high for this new literary season.
