Parc des Princes transformed into a padel court: a look behind the scenes
Less than a month before the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel 2024 (September 28-October 6) at Roland Garros, the Parc des Princes was transformed for one evening into a fantastic padel stronghold.
A sport that is booming in France, padel brings together more and more enthusiasts every month. Coming from tennis, football, handball or simple beginners, its addictive and fun side quickly seduces the greatest number. So inevitably, when Qatar Airways, Premier Padel and the Paris-Saint Germain had the idea of installing a padel court on the Auteuil stand side, success was guaranteed.
Journalists, influencers, freestylers, artists, former professional athletes and other special guests were there on Monday evening at the Parc des Princes to discover the place. Entrance behind the scenes of the stadium, visit of the changing rooms (see videos), passing through the players’ corridor, arriving at the edge of the pitch… And discovery of this unique padel court, installed in front of the Auteuil stand.
Here are the guests ready to exchange a few balls for a unique and fleeting moment. In this game, Clément Chantome and Christophe Jallet (ex-PSG) do very well, we can see that they play regularly. Just like Thierry Omeyer (ex-PSG handball), very focused and not there to joke! The competitive spirit of the great champions. But of course, coming from tennis, the ex-professionals Arnaud di Pasquale and Arnaud Clément delight.
On the pitch or around it, the organisers were also able to count on Florent Sinama-Pongolle (ex-Liverpool), Zoumana Camara (ex-PSG, Inter Milan) and chef Pierre Sang.
Note in the diaries of padel fans and for all those who would like to discover this trendy sport: for the 3rd time, at Roland Garros, it's time for the Greenweez Paris Major Premier Padel 2024 from September 28 to October 6, 2024.
