The video game "The Sims" will be adapted into a film by Margot Robbie's company

The famous life simulation video game, The Sims, will soon see the light of day in theaters, produced by LuckyChap, the company of Margot Robbie, behind the global success of BarbieThe news was confirmed by Electronic Arts during a conference on September 17, 2024.

The film was directed by Kate Herron, known for her work on Loki et fri Education. Although few details have been revealed, the feature film should be deeply rooted in the universe of The Sims, promising to reflect the essence of video games.

Since its first release in 2000, the franchise has sold over 200 million copies. With this adaptation, Electronic Arts hopes to follow the wave of success of recent video game adaptations like Super Mario Bros. ou Sonic.

This adaptation aims to capitalize on the unique space of freedom that represents The Sims, a game where players can shape the lives of their avatars without pre-established goals, a virtual world where anything is possible.
