“The music is ready”: Angèle, Phoenix and Kavinsky announce the release of “Nightcall”
The closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games featured one of the most memorable performances: the reprise of Nightcall by Angèle, Phoenix and Kavinsky. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the official release of this version, and it seems their wait is coming to an end.
In cryptic social media posts, Angèle and Phoenix teased the song's imminent release with a message inviting people to call a number. Curious fans who tried their luck were able to hear a pre-recorded message in which Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars and Angèle discuss the song's upcoming release. Kavinsky is also involved in the conversation, dropping a snippet of the song.
The original song, already propelled to the rank of worldwide hit with the film Drive in 2014, saw a dramatic resurgence in interest after the Olympic performance. It even became the most Shazamed song of all time in a single day after the event.
Although the official release date for this re-recorded version has not yet been specified, fans can expect to discover this highly anticipated collaboration very soon.
