Filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist Jim Jarmusch will be the star of the 27th edition of Paris Photo, which will be held from November 7 to 10, 2024 at the restored Grand Palais. On the occasion of the centenary of surrealism, Jarmusch was invited to select works from among the 240 exhibitors from 34 countries, to create a thematic tour dedicated to this artistic movement that deeply influenced his work.

The director of Stranger Than Paradise et Broken Flowers will also present a preview Return to Reason, an opus bringing together four restored films by the artist Man Ray, for which he composed the soundtrack with his group SQÜRL. This project pays homage to the surrealist spirit, and the film will be screened in two Parisian theaters before its official release on November 13.

Jim Jarmusch will also participate in a public conversation during the show, exploring the influence of surrealism on his cinematic work. In parallel, Paris Photo will highlight Lithuanian photography as well as women photographers, and explore the boundaries of the image through works using artificial intelligence.
