The day after the shooting that left 14 dead in San Bernardino, California, an independent company announced that it would launch a home shopping channel dedicated to weapons called GunTV in early January. His ambition? Offer your products responsibly ».

Will we soon be able to buy firearms like a state-of-the-art vacuum cleaner on a TV shopping channel? In any case, this is the objective of Gun TV, a new channel which will be launched at the beginning of January, which will offer the sale of weapons. Valérie Castle, the co-founder of the channel, spoke in the columns of the British daily The Guardian : " NOTWe saw an opportunity to fill a need, not create one”. This channel arrives on American television at a time when the American Congress is prohibiting the slightest reform regarding firearms and their self-service sales. A subject that is still controversial in the United States.

However, Valérie Castle defends herself: “ I don't think it's going to put more guns on the streets.", affirming on the contrary that like other teleshopping channels, GunTV will present weapons and associated products in a “responsible manner”. A simple order by telephone or internet will allow you to receive your product via simple parcel relay. It is fortunately specified that the buyer's criminal record will be checked and the procedures imposed on customers will be identical to those of the stores.

Launched in January, GunTV will broadcast its programs, via satellite and cable, between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., six days a week. But the channel hopes to be able, in the short term, to broadcast 24 hours a day.
