Fabien Roussel directly opposes Jean-Luc Mélenchon on Matignon
Antoine Oberdorff revealed on Twitter a firm position taken by Fabien Roussel, national secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF), against La France insoumise (LFI) and Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
In a message shared on the WhatsApp group “PCF Press Group”, Roussel expressed his disagreement with the idea that Mélenchon could be appointed Prime Minister, a notion that the latter himself would have suggested.
Roussel declared: “The idea of a nomination for the post of Prime Minister of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, which he himself fuels, has never been the subject of an agreement between the forces of the popular front. This is false and unbearable. »
He also criticizes the excessive personalization of political debate and calls for a return to fundamental values such as appeasement, listening, respect, and the general interest.
This statement comes in a context of growing tensions within the French left, where alliances and personal ambitions are often sources of friction.
Roussel, known for his enmity with Jean-Luc Mélenchon and LFI, thus reaffirms his commitment to unite and bring together while respecting democracy and human dignity. The debate over Mélenchon's prime ministership illustrates the challenges that the New Popular Front must overcome to maintain political coherence.
